Job Title: Laser Machine Operator – 2nd Shift

Job Description

This role focuses on operating laser cutting equipment to produce precision metal components used in power distribution systems on the 2nd shift. You will set up and run laser machines, ensure parts meet quality specifications, and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment while working at a steady pace.

Responsibilities

• Operate laser cutting equipment to produce precision metal components according to production requirements and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, and processing requirements.
• Set up laser machines, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and verifying proper alignment for each job.
• Use measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting on equipment to address minor issues and maintain consistent machine performance.
• Handle sheet metal and related materials safely and efficiently during setup, cutting, and unloading operations.
• Follow established procedures for mechanical and electrical assemblies when required, including basic soldering, wiring, and harness assembly tasks.
• Inspect finished parts for defects, accuracy, and overall quality, and make adjustments as needed to maintain high standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety guidelines and best practices.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and continuously improve processes.
• Document work as required, including recording measurements, part counts, and production data.
• Work at a steady pace throughout the 2nd shift to meet daily output and quality targets.

Essential Skills

• 1–2 years of laser operating or CNC machining experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Experience with hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing or assembly setting.
• Familiarity with electronic and electrical assembly tasks such as soldering, electrical wiring, circuit board work, wiring and harness assembly, crimping, and interpreting schematics.
• Mechanical assembly experience, including working with tools and mechanical components.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience working with sheet metal fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with CNC programming or machine setup.
• Experience in electrical assembly and soldering for industrial or electronic applications.
• Comfort working with mechanical, electrical, and electronic components in an integrated production environment.
• Ability to work effectively on a fixed 2nd shift schedule.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new processes and technologies.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean manufacturing environment where employees work at a steady, consistent pace. The position operates on the 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., providing a structured schedule. Team members use laser cutting equipment, hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measures, as well as working with sheet metal, mechanical assemblies, and electrical components. The dress code requires long pants, such as jeans or khakis, appropriate for a production setting and aligned with safety expectations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA.

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bethlehem,PA.
