Job Title: Cook Location: RWJ Somerset Department: Dietary-Management Requirement #: 0000241118 Status: Per Diem (Hourly) Shift: Evening Pay Range: $19.28 per hour Job Overview Prepares all foods for patient and non-patient functions and meals assigned Works various shifts under the direction of the chef Follows daily production sheets routinely and records overages and underages after each meal service Practices high levels of sanitation as instituted by the department Maintains high standards in personal hygiene and safety Qualifications Previous food service experience Scheduling Requirements Shift working, 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. each day Rotating weekends PD Essential Functions Prepares main entrees for breakfast, lunch and dinner according to standardized recipes in forecasted amounts prior to start of room service, ensuring appearance, taste, and temperature are at acceptable levels Follows proper HACCP food handling policies and procedures daily Maintains all proper food temperature Works with food and supplies according to established guidelines Properly dates, wraps and labels all food products daily Keeps work area neat, clean and organized Shows willingness to take on additional assignments or put in additional time when needed Assists other department personnel in completing their assignments when possible Understands duties of other comparable positions in the department to maintain coverage in emergencies Follows daily job routines Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior toward patients, visitors, supervisors, peers, and co-workers Demonstrates schedule flexibility Job routine descriptions may change at any time with or without notice.
