Overview


The Shipping Clerk prepares and manages both domestic and international shipping documentation, working directly with logistics team to resolve issues and complete required paperwork. This role requires real, hands-on experience with international shipping - commercial invoices, shipper's letters of instruction, and U.S. Customs documentation through the ACE government portal are all part of a normal day. Because this work supports time-sensitive shipments to a major semiconductor customer, accuracy and follow-through matter more than speed.


This is an experience-required role - we are looking for someone who has done this work before, ideally in a machine equipment, semiconductor, or microprocessor-supporting environment, not someone learning international shipping for the first time.


WHO WE NEED


Someone with real, hands-on experience preparing domestic and international shipping documentation and working with carriers like UPS, FedEx, and DHL, along with freight-forwarder requirements specific to major accounts. This person is comfortable in Excel and Word, writes clear professional English, and can be trusted to communicate directly with vendors and internal departments to keep shipments moving. They should also be willing to learn to operate a forklift.


WHAT THEY WILL DO DAY ONE

• Prepare documents to ship parts to both domestic and international destinations.
• Prepare commercial invoices for international shipments.
• Prepare Shipper's Letters of Instruction for international shipments.
• Email logistics team directly to resolve shipping issues or request information needed to complete a shipment.
• Verify that parts match the PS, OP, and serial numbers on the shipping paperwork before they go out.
• Complete international customs documentation through ACE, the U.S. government's Automated Commercial Environment portal.

MUST KNOW WALKING IN

• Full English - reading, writing, and speaking. This role emails vendors and internal departments daily; written English must be clear and professional.
• Hands-on experience shipping via UPS, FedEx, and DHL, including the freight-forwarder processes required
• Prior experience in a machine equipment, semiconductor, or microprocessor-supporting industry.
• Microsoft Excel and Word - used daily for tracking shipments and preparing documentation.
• Comfortable with email as a primary communication tool with outside vendors and partners.
