Senior UX Strategist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior UX Strategist based in Canada.

This role sits at the intersection of UX research, product strategy, and design, helping teams make confident, evidence-based product decisions. You will lead foundational and evaluative research to uncover user needs, workflows, pain points, and opportunities. Your work will turn complex qualitative and quantitative insights into clear product direction and actionable recommendations. You will collaborate closely with designers and cross-functional stakeholders from early discovery through validation. The role offers the opportunity to influence both product outcomes and broader business objectives through research-led strategy. You'll work in a collaborative, creative environment that values continuous improvement, innovation, and meaningful client impact. Occasional travel may be required depending on project and client needs.

Accountabilities

• Design and execute generative and evaluative UX research studies, including user interviews, diary studies, usability testing, and other appropriate research methods.
• Conduct foundational research to understand user workflows, operational contexts, challenges, motivations, and unmet needs.
• Scope research approaches thoughtfully, balancing methodological rigor, project timelines, available resources, and confidence in resulting recommendations.
• Partner closely with designers throughout the product development lifecycle, from discovery and exploration through validation and refinement.
• Participate in co-ideation and collaborative workshops, translating research findings into meaningful design opportunities and product directions.
• Synthesize complex research findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations connected to business and user outcomes.
• Create audience-focused narratives and presentations that help stakeholders understand findings and make informed decisions rather than simply documenting research.
• Track and communicate the impact of research-informed decisions and contribute to continuous improvement across projects and team practices.
• Contribute to a culture of creative problem-solving, innovation, collaboration, and high-quality delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product strategy, UX research, design strategy, or another closely related strategic role.
• Demonstrated experience independently leading both generative and evaluative research initiatives.
• Strong practical knowledge of research methods such as user interviews, diary studies, usability testing, and foundational discovery research.
• Proven ability to translate research insights into actionable product or design recommendations and clearly articulate their potential business impact.
• Excellent facilitation skills, with the ability to guide workshops, discussions, and collaborative sessions effectively.
• Strong storytelling and presentation abilities, including the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to diverse audiences.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to build productive partnerships with design, product, and client stakeholders.
• Strategic and analytical mindset, with strong judgment when balancing research rigor, timelines, business priorities, and user needs.
• Curiosity, creativity, and a commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and improving team and client outcomes.
• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally based on project and client requirements.
