Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the unique characteristics and necessities of older adults, ensuring to identify their psychological, cognitive, and emotional needs.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that consider the client’s medical and psychosocial history, as well as their current life circumstances.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and supportive psychotherapy, to help patients navigate geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geriatric psychiatrists and primary care providers, to ensure a comprehensive treatment approach for all clients.

• Provide education to patients and their families regarding mental health disorders, treatment options, and resources available within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in mental health therapy, particularly with elderly clients.
