Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, taking into account the unique cognitive, emotional, and physical challenges faced by older adults.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans based on thorough evaluations, factoring in individual cognitive changes, comorbid physical health issues, and social circumstances.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as individual and family therapy sessions, to effectively address conditions like depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders.

• Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and other professionals to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to patient care.

• Provide crisis intervention services to offer timely support during mental health emergencies for our elderly patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on serving the geriatric population who are often dealing with complex mental health issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, dementia, and adjustment difficulties. The counselor will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for elderly clients through tailored therapeutic approaches.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related fields from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW-C, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Maryland.

• Proven experience in providing mental health services, preferably with a focus on older adults.
