Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for consistent routines. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for geriatric clients to identify their specific psychological needs and care requirements.

• Deliver individual and group counseling sessions that target emotional challenges stemming from aging, loss, or life transitions.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to formulate and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to each client's needs.

• Educate caregivers and family members on effective strategies to support their loved ones in enhancing emotional well-being and quality of life.

• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions for clients and their families, providing a safe space for processing end-of-life issues.

• Implement cognitive stimulation activities and evidence-based interventions aimed at boosting the mental acuity of elderly individuals.

• Maintain detailed progress notes and treatment records in accordance with ethical and legal standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with seniors facing various mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, dementia-related issues, and adjustment disorders related to life changes. Your interventions will play a pivotal role in fostering their emotional resilience, enhancing their self-esteem, and providing them with coping mechanisms to navigate the challenges associated with aging.

Qualifications\n

• Possess a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• Hold a valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation in the state of Massachusetts.

• A minimum of 4 years of recent professional experience in mental health counseling, specifically working with elderly populations.

• Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to mental health issues in geriatric clients.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage and connect with clients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits\n
