Sr. Staff Accountant - Hybrid

Sr. Staff Accountant OpportunityGenesis10 is currently seeking a Sr. Staff Accountant for a contract position with a Major Financial Services Firm located in New York, NY. This is a 4-6 month contract opportunity to cover a leave of absence. Hybrid, 3 days onsite. Range: $62-72/hr W2This role will support the monthly general ledger close, including preparing journal entries, performing Balance Sheet and P&L reviews, and completing account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will analyze monthly expense categories to support accruals and assist with submissions to the Global Consolidation group. Candidates must have at least 10 years of experience, preferably within financial services/banking environments.Responsibilities:Support the monthly general ledger close, including preparing journal entries, performing Balance Sheet and P&L reviews/analysis, and completing account reconciliationsAnalyze monthly expense categories to support accruals, variance commentary, stakeholder reporting, and forecastingAssist with the monthly submission to the Global Consolidation group which includes the running of certain control reports, providing variance commentary on Balance Sheet and P&L fluctuations, and ensuring disclosure schedules are accurately reflectedPartner with team members on the production and presentation of monthly reporting decksAssist with budgeting and forecasting processes for both cash flow and actualsPerform ad hoc analyses for internal and external reporting purposesAssist in the coding, review and approval of invoices within the AP invoice applicationRequirements:Undergraduate degree in Accounting10-15 years of experienceStrong accounting foundationStrong analytical skills and a high level of proficiency using Microsoft software applicationsEffective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact across finance and other business groupsTeam oriented with the ability to work independentlyStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and escalate issues when appropriateSelf-motivated, detail oriented, and results drivenDesired Skills:CPA certificationExperience in financial servicesExperience with SAP GLOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
