The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Revenue Recognition Lead to join the corporate Accounting team and support the company's consumer business. In this highly visible role, you will be the go-to technical expert on revenue, making sure accounting treatment, operational processes, and systems work together accurately, efficiently, and in line with company policy.

Although this is an individual contributor position, it carries significant influence. You will partner closely with product, marketing, FP&A, and technology teams to understand new offerings, business strategy, and system roadmaps, then translate that knowledge into clear revenue guidance and sound accounting, whether automated or manual. Your work directly supports the integrity of the financial statements and the company's continued growth.

The right person pairs deep technical accounting skill with the ability to lead through change, turn complex guidance into practical requirements, and see issues through to resolution.

What You'll Do

• Build a thorough understanding of the operational, financial, and systems landscape, including the upstream and downstream processes that affect revenue and the customer experience, and shape strategy for new offerings and business changes.
• Own, update, and apply the company's ASC 606 revenue policy, drafting new positions and interpretations as the business evolves.
• Conduct technical accounting research and prepare well-supported memos and conclusions.
• Communicate clear, confident recommendations on revenue matters, outlining status, options, and trade-offs for accounting, technical, and business audiences alike.
• Monitor new and changing FASB and SEC guidance and update internal policy accordingly.
• Bring a questioning, skeptical mindset to evaluating whether revenue accounting conclusions are appropriate and reasonable.
• Design and maintain controls over revenue forecasts, deferred revenue balances, and revenue accounting to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policy.
• Build trusted relationships with leaders in Accounting, Finance, and the broader business to enable timely, well-informed decisions on revenue topics.
• Create and deliver training and education sessions for business and functional leaders.
• Serve as a consultant to product, sales, and marketing teams so the revenue timing and process impact of each offering is understood from the start.
• Ensure accounting treatment for every product and service is documented, and that related account reconciliations are prepared, reviewed, and supported.
• Identify opportunities to simplify systems and reporting so revenue is recorded and classified accurately and efficiently.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience) and 7+ years of relevant post-graduate experience.
• Active CPA license (required).
• Strong command of technical accounting, revenue recognition standards, financial reporting, and internal controls (ICFR).
• A process-minded, analytical approach with proven project management and problem-solving ability; you take ownership and push for best-in-class results.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the presence to influence peers and leaders across multiple business units.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and risk assessment skills.
• A validation-and-testing mindset; public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or internal audit experience is a plus.
• Polished written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor your message to the audience and escalate issues appropriately.
• Advanced Excel and general computer proficiency. Experience with a large-scale ERP, billing platform, revenue subledger, or BI/reporting tool is a plus.
