We invite you to become part of our esteemed health system, recognized nationally for its excellence. We are currently in search of cardiac anesthesiologists to join our physician-led medical team at Advocate Christ Medical Center located in Oak Lawn, IL.

Situated in a southwest suburb of Chicago, Advocate Christ Medical Center is a Level I trauma facility, handling over 105,000 emergency visits each year. The center is nationally acknowledged for its specialties in gynecology, cardiology, and heart surgery, and serves as a key referral hospital for various fields, including cancer treatment, heart and kidney transplants, neurosciences, orthopedics, and women's health.

Key Highlights

• Specialized Cardiac Team: Focus solely on cardiac procedures, ranging from straightforward to intricate cases, without the need for cross-coverage or non-cardiac on-call duties.

• Coverage Responsibilities: Involves cardiac bypass surgeries (CABG, valve, VAD, transplant), thoracic, major vascular, TEVAR, EVAR, TAVR, structural heart interventions, and care for cardiac patients undergoing non-cardiac surgeries, based on specific inclusion criteria.

• Single Center Practice: No mandatory coverage at additional locations.

• High Volume: Over 2,500 bypass surgeries performed annually.

• Support Staff: Access to Anesthesia Technicians and Nursing support.

• Supportive Call Schedule: Approximately one first call every two weeks and one second call every other week, with about one weekend call each month.

• Advanced Facilities: Work in a state-of-the-art Level I Trauma Center with hybrid operating rooms.

• Integrated Organization: Join a nationally recognized entity with a physician-led medical group and embedded service lines.

• Innovative Technology: Utilize DAX Copilot, an AI-driven clinical documentation tool integrated with Epic, to enhance clinical workflows by generating draft patient notes for efficient review and signature.

• EPIC EMR System: As the largest user of EPIC in the nation, we ensure an optimized electronic medical record system.

Training and Experience Required

• Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency program.

• Eligibility for board certification or board-certified in Anesthesiology.

• Preferred: Fellowship training in Cardiac Anesthesiology.

• Required: Training and certification in Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), with board certification preferred.
