Schedule

Rotating Day/Mid shifts (07:00 - 19:30 / 11:00 - 23:30) with a 3x12 or 4x12 schedule accepted. Every other weekend and holiday coverage required.

Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) is responsible for providing optimal care to patients of all age ranges, from infants to geriatrics, in a fast-paced emergency environment. The ED RN will utilize critical thinking and a wide scope of clinical competencies to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Administer medications and monitor patients’ responses.
• Provide care for patients with various diagnoses and acuity levels.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.
• Manage emergency situations, including intubation and codes.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of experience in a critical care or emergency department setting.
• Active RN license in Maryland or compact state.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications (CPI must be obtained during onboarding).
• NRP and TNCC certifications preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
