Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Iowa license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• No current placement allowed at Program: TrioWFS Program - UnityPoint Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: 24 months of MS/Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting required. 24 months of current MS/Medical Surgical/Med Surg experience required. PCA and heparin experience required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Post-op surgical experience highly preferred. Patient care experience with hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries highly preferred.

Special Requests: Past UPH employees who are FTE or PRN for the UPH float pool cannot work travel in another market if they currently work there or worked there within the past 12 months; prior UPH travel experience only does not trigger this separation policy. Unless the unit is closed, required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).

Unit Details: Patient types include hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries. Unit has an emotional support canine.

Shift & Scheduling: Holiday rotation. No call. Every 3rd weekend.

Floating Requirements: Required to float across campuses and units to like units, including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 2 years

Driver’s license required for submission
