Accounts Payable Accountant

Accounts Payable Accountant Polaris Wireless is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to manage our accounts payable function. The ideal candidate will bring experience in multi-currency conversion and a strong understanding of GAAP principles, sales and use tax rules, and W-9/1099 filing requirements. You will collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals during annual audits and provide reconciliation schedules related to AP and liability accruals. We are looking for a detail-oriented, passionate individual contributor who can work independently and take ownership of this function. Specific responsibilities will include: Review and post all expense reports and vendor invoices in QuickBooks Prepare wire transfers and check batches for disbursement cycles Prepare required forms for contractors/non-employees for annual IRS reporting Maintain vendor agreements, payable files, and W-9 documentation Review and post accruals for contractor expenses, general accruals, and other expenses Maintain fixed asset sub-ledger and depreciation schedules Prepare annual property tax returns Prepare and file sales and use tax returns Prepare and file annual 1099 forms Assist with annual audit procedures Qualifications The individual should have a bachelor's degree in accounting or related fields and a minimum of 3 years' work related experiences. 35 years of experience in accounts payable operations Strong knowledge of QuickBooks software Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) Solid understanding of GAAP principles Knowledge of sales and use tax rules, W-9, and 1099 filing requirements Understanding of foreign exchange gains/losses and multi-currency accounting Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently This position is located in Santa Clara, CA.
