Job Details Posted: 17-Mar-24 Location: Stanford, California; Hopkins Marine Station Campus, Pacific Grove, California Type: Full-time Schedule: Full-time Pay: $83,000 to $128,000 per annum (based on scope, qualifications, budget, etc.) Responsibilities Day‑to‑day building readiness including proactive customer service, ServiceNow work order management, building inspections, and vendor & service contract management Forward‑facing customer service support to campus occupants for a wide range of facilities needs Collaboration with campus and external partners to maintain HMS buildings effectively Experimental lab facility support in coordination with campus partners, lab management staff, faculty, and students Implementation of sustainable building initiatives Operationalization of facility security programs, including card reader security access control and key management/distribution Facility project coordination: organizing, scheduling, budgeting, and executing small and local projects Integrating long‑range facilities planning into the station Facility emergency preparedness & response point of contact for on‑call campus support, including after‑hours Space and asset management coordination, including inventory support Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree and five years of related, demonstrated technical facilities management experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Analytical skills to analyze and track complex space, equipment, and financial data Strong interpersonal skills and mature judgment for interacting with faculty, vendors, and staff Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines Working knowledge of applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project Experience contracting with internal and external vendors and services Background knowledge of safe handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous waste; emergency preparedness planning and implementation; and property administration related to PO tracking, receiving, and inventory control Certifications and Licenses Valid California Non‑commercial Class Driver’s license Preferred Requirements Knowledge of Stanford University systems and policies Experience managing a complex academic site in a coastal/marine environment Experience managing facilities under multiple land use and environmental regulating agencies Ability to influence outcomes without authority Ability to independently respond to emergency situations, including off‑hours Sound experience and judgment for site security and emergency response planning and management Physical Requirements Frequently stands, walks, sits, and performs desk‑based computer tasks Occasionally climbs ladders or scaffolds, twists, bends, stoops, squats, reaches/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, use a telephone, write by hand, and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds Rarely kneels/crawls, grasps forcefully, sorts/files paperwork or parts, or lifts/carries/pushes/pulls objects that weigh more than 40 pounds Requires a California Non‑commercial Class Driver’s license and ability to drive day or night Working Conditions Requires 24‑hour response availability seven days per week for emergency situations May be exposed to noise exceeding 80 dB TWA May work at heights of 4–10 ft Benefits Stanford University offers a comprehensive rewards package.
