Job Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily inbound and outbound logistics operations to ensure accurate inventory control, safe material handling, and on-time shipment of customer orders. This position serves as a key communication link between Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to ensure efficient scheduling of freight shipments. Ensuring alignment of priorities, proactive communication, and timely resolution of delivery related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipping & Receiving Operations

· Supervise daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate, timely, and damage-free handling of raw materials and finished goods

· Ensure all inbound and outbound shipments are properly documented, labeled, and processed in accordance with company procedures

· Coordinate scheduling of common carriers (LTL, FTL, parcel, courier) to meet customer delivery requirements and cost targets

· Ensure accuracy of shipping documentation including BOLs, packing lists, and weights/quantities as well as create and enforce quality reviews for receipt or outbound shipping

Inventory Control & Accuracy

· Maintain accurate shipping and receiving inventory records through proper processes that will be implemented along with confirming physical inventory count when needed. – ensure data accuracy in Agile ERP system

· Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, or overages

Logistics & Freight Management

· Obtain freight quotes and select cost-effective transportation options

· Monitor freight costs.

· Track shipments through delivery confirmation

· Coordinate expedited shipments when required

· Manage freight claims and carrier performance issues from initiation to resolution as required

Coordination & Communication

· Coordinate closely with Sales, Customer Service/Purchasing, Operations, to align shipping priorities and customer commitments

· Communicate shipment status, delays, or issues proactively

· Support customer escalations related to shipping, delivery, or inventory discrepancies

Safety & Compliance

· Enforce all safety policies, OSHA requirements, and company procedures for inbound and outbound shipments.

· Maintain control/inventory of all Hazardous Waste and ensure it is properly stored and disposed of, including labeling and secondary containment

Process & Continuous Improvement

· Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)

· Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.

· Participate in lean initiatives and continuous improvement activities

Qualifications & Skills

· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, supply chain certification or logistics certification preferred

· 3–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics coordination or warehouse operations

· Experience interacting directly with customers, carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to coordinate orders, resolve issues, and ensure on-time delivery performance

· Familiarity with common carriers, freight terms, and shipping documentation

· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong communication and customer relationship skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook,Word, etc.)

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate material handling equipment for extended periods

· Work performed in warehouse/manufacturing environment
