My name is Jason and I am the owner of AutoLab in Denver and I am going to be 100% transparent with you.
I know what it feels like to be unappreciated as a great automotive technician. I know how it feels to not have your voice heard. To work with broken or no shop tools. To feel like nothing we do matters. I was there for a long time. So I made sure that my shop was going to be anything but that!
AutoLab was opened over 21 years ago. From the day I opened my doors I vowed to change how this industry views automotive repair. I wanted to be THE shop that people talked about. I wanted to give my customer's a product they could rave about. An experience that they could not get anywhere else.
In order to do that I had to create a culture where my employees were heard and part of something bigger than just a job. I wanted to create a shop built on mutual respect among every team member. I wanted to make sure we had every piece of tool and equipment needed to get the job done right. Most importantly, I wanted to always show appreciation and be the place where EVERYONE wanted to work. We have been working at this since the day we opened and we have no plans to stop.

Duties

• Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues, including engine, transmission, electrical systems, and powertrain components
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and alignments to keep vehicles running smoothly
• Utilize schematics and automotive diagnostics tools to identify problems accurately and efficiently
• Work with advanced systems like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) to calibrate sensors and ensure safety features operate correctly
• Repair diesel engines, transmissions, and perform welding as needed to restore vehicle functionality
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle components
• Interpret automotive electrical systems diagrams and troubleshoot complex electrical issues with precision
• Collaborate with team members on auto estimating, ensuring accurate assessment of repairs needed for customer vehicles
• Maintain detailed service records and communicate clearly with customers about repairs performed and recommended services

Experience

• Prior dealership experience or extensive automotive service technician background preferred
• Proven knowledge of automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and electrical systems troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience with GM vehicles or similar makes is advantageous
• Skilled in mechanical repairs including engine work, powertrain repairs, diesel engine servicing, and welding techniques
• Familiarity with ADAS calibration, vehicle alignment procedures, and auto estimating software
• Strong customer service skills to explain technical issues clearly and build trust with clients
• Experience working on transmissions, vehicle maintenance routines, and automotive electrical systems is highly desirable
• Service technician experience demonstrating proficiency in diagnosing complex problems efficiently
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
