• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse provides patient care using the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized plans of care. The RN administers medications and treatments, documents according to standards of care, provides patient and family instruction, participates in performance improvement activities, supports other units through clinical expertise, and applies critical thinking to patient safety and patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and applicable State laws.
• Document according to standards of care.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care according to physician orders and hospital policy.
• Provide patient and family instruction.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance when applicable.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
• Apply critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience.
• Escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command.

Required Qualifications

Licensure

• Current Wisconsin RN license.

Required Certifications

• NIHSS.
• CPR/BLS.

Schedule

• Night shift: 6:30 PM 7:00 AM.
• 12-hour shifts.
• Every other weekend and holiday required.
• May be required to float to other units.
