Director of Pediatric Electrophysiology

Overview The Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the Duke Department of Pediatrics invites applications for Director of Pediatric Electrophysiology. The role is part of Duke Children’s Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and expand a high-volume, academically-driven program with a premier academic health system. Qualifications Board-certified in Pediatric Cardiology with advanced training and a minimum of five years of experience in invasive pediatric electrophysiology. Experience in adult congenital electrophysiology, expertise in catheter-based electrophysiology procedures, and device implantation and management are highly sought. Pediatric cardiologists with a strong interest in growing the academic and clinical program through research, clinical excellence, and community outreach are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Direct and grow the pediatric electrophysiology program, including a combination of inpatient and outpatient care, procedures such as interventional electrophysiology study, ablation, and device implantation. Mentor fellows and participate in cutting-edge clinical trials. Collaborate with a congenital cardiac catheterization laboratory team and pediatric cardiac anesthesia within state-of-the-art laboratories. Provide comprehensive electrophysiology care, including evaluation and management of genetic arrhythmia syndromes, and collaborate with the Duke adult electrophysiology program in clinical care, research, and education. Environment and Collaboration The division has a long-standing history of excellence in patient care, research, and training in pediatric electrophysiology. There is ongoing close collaboration with the Duke adult electrophysiology program in clinical care, research, and education. Opportunities for major interactions with the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Division of Adult Cardiology, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Duke Translational Medicine Institute, Duke Clinical Research Institute, Institute for Genome Sciences & Policy, and other groups at Duke. The role provides resources and a stimulating, collaborative environment within the Department of Pediatrics and across the Duke campus.
