Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist – Inpatient
Location: Fort Walton Beach / Destin, FL
Job Type: Perm Contingent
Duration: Permanent
Shift: Day | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Schedule: 4x10s; every 3rd weekend + 1 summer holiday (4th of July, Memorial Day, or Labor Day) and 1 winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's)
Local Candidates Required: No (Relocation considered on a case-by-case basis)

Pay Rate

• Salary Range: Min $52/hr – Mid $59/hr (10 years of experience) – Max $64/hr (15+ years)

• Shift Differentials: 2nd Shift: $2.00/hr | 3rd Shift: $4.25/hr | Extra Shift Premium: $3.00/hr

• Sign-On Bonus: None

• Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case basis

Required Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy

• B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required

• PGY1 completion, new grad, or inpatient hospital experience highly preferred

• If no inpatient experience, candidates must be within 5 years of graduation date (long-term retail candidates are not desired)

• Minimum of 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred

• Strong clinical decision-making, team-oriented mindset, and commitment to long-term career growth

Responsibilities

• Interpret, verify, and transcribe medication orders accurately and efficiently in the pharmacy computer system

• Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals safely and in compliance with hospital standards

• Monitor patient regimens for contraindications, drug-drug/food interactions, allergies, and appropriateness of drug and dosing

• Sustain the hospital formulary by evaluating non-formulary requests, utilizing therapeutic interchanges, and promoting rational therapy selection

• Provide clinical pharmacy consultations, including nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV-to-PO conversions, and renal dose adjustments

• Deliver timely and accurate medication education and consultation to multidisciplinary healthcare teams and patients

• Accurately document clinical interventions, error notifications, and adverse drug reactions (ADRs)

• Provide operational oversight and clinical support to pharmacy technicians and team members

• Facility Size: 267 Beds (Advanced Primary Stroke Center, Cancer Care Center, Open-Heart Surgery Program)

• Department Services: Main ER, Pediatric ER, two Freestanding ERs, and acute/critical care patient services

• Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Pharmacy Manager
