Assistant Branch Manager - Palmetto Bay

Job Summary The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager as a leader of the assigned location; directing the daily operations of the branch while acting as a role model in promotion of Credit Union products, services, and solutions to members within the branch. Duties & Responsibilities Assists the Branch Manager with motivating, coaching, and developing branch staff to provide outstanding service and advocacy to members, while consistently identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and strengthen member loyalty. Aids in the development and delivery of annual and mid-year evaluations for branch staff. Maintains advanced-level understanding of all aspects of branch workflow, including loan application processing, new account originations, cash vault management, branch compliance, and other operational processes. Assists with performing these functions as necessary. Supports the process of delivering daily huddles and monthly meetings with branch staff to recognize staff achievements, provide product education, and share meaningful business updates. Participates in external networking and promotional events with local schools, colleges, and other community business partners. Aids in branch facility-related maintenance needs, including ATM, custodial, security, and other vendors as required. Serves as community liaison in representing the Credit Union at community functions and leadership forums. Assists the Branch Manager with creation of annual branch business plan highlighting business trends and opportunities for competitive differentiation. Role models servant leadership at all times and inspires others to embrace the Credit Union mission of people helping people through personal conduct and performance. Serves as point of escalation for member issues/concerns within the branch, coordinating resolution with other Credit Union departments, and demonstrating sound judgment when making exceptions to policy/procedures for the benefit of the member. Ensures the branch is adequately staffed and that the branch schedule reflects traffic patterns, resulting in an effective and efficient workflow that provides an overall exceptional experience for all members. Collaborates with the Branch Manager in hiring, advancement, mentoring, and addressing disciplinary matters of staff. Requires the ability to travel throughout the branch network to provide staffing assistance at all branch locations when necessary. Ensures that the branch follows prescribed policy, operational, and security procedures in compliance with internal and external procedures, NCUA, and other regulations. Full compliance with BSA rules and regulations. Reviews OFAC matches within designated risk score and provides clearance to staff on false‑positive matches. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Skills And Abilities Strong organization and time‑management, problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Excellent organization, prioritization, analytical, sales and problem‑solving skills to effectively manage and attain branch operations and set sales goals. Extensive knowledge and understanding of financial products, services, policies, and procedures including mortgages, consumer loans and deposit products. Extensive knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance, including SAFE ACT and BSA. Familiarity with PC applications, including Microsoft Office. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Must exercise sound judgment and independent discretion in all areas of responsibility.
