At MGM Resorts, we seek individuals like YOU to create unique and show-stopping experiences for our guests.THE JOB:It is the primary responsibility of the Associate Legal Counsel—Risk Management to perform, at the direction of designated Legal Counsel and other senior department attorneys (as applicable), professional legal work related to assigned matters for MGM Resorts International and subsidiary organizations related to general liability litigation.THE DAY-TO-DAY:Represents the Company in state and federal court litigation related to general liability litigation.Performs legal research, drafts and files pleadings, and handles all aspects of discovery and motion practice for general liability litigation claims.Exercises discretion and independent judgment commensurate with specialized legal skills and experience.Provides sound, well-reasoned legal advice to the Company’s various business units as it relates to general liability claims and risk management.Develops and maintains strong business relationships among the various internal business groups requiring legal support.Demonstrates leadership and team-work skills in support of a collaborative environment.Supervises paralegals and staff on work assignments.Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Legal Counsel—Risk Management.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:Hold a Juris Doctor5+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience M&A/Corporate experience from a top law firm - PreferredCurrent admission to the State Bar of NevadaInternational transactions and business experience - PreferredExperience in supervising and coordinating outside counsel and other advisors both nationally and internationally - PreferredExperience with public corporations and corporate governance - PreferredWillingness to travel domestically and internationally - PreferredPrevious experience working in a resort setting - PreferredTHE PERKS & BENEFITS:Wellness incentive programs to help you stay healthy physically and mentallyAccess to company hotel, food and beverage, retail, and entertainment discounts as well as discounts with company partners on things like travel, electronics, online shopping, and moreFree parking on and off shiftHealth & Income Protection benefits (for eligible employees)Professional and personal development through programs and networking opportunities as well as volunteer opportunities in the communityVIEW JOB DESCRIPTION:Are you ready to JOIN THE SHOW?
