Job Title Executive Director (ED) Reports to Eight-member Physician Owner Board, with a single designated Owner serving as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations and decision-making Practice profile Multi-site OB/GYN practice serving Central New Jersey Advanced OB/GYN services span preventive care, reproductive health, pregnancy, and advanced gynecologic treatment. The practice has experienced significant growth over the past five years, including a 50% increase in revenue, the addition of four providers, and expansion to a fourth location. Strong leadership team in place for Clinical Operations, Office Operations, Revenue Cycle, and Ultrasound. Executive Director (ED) Overview Advanced OB/GYN has experienced significant growth over the past five years and seeks an ED to scale the organization, strengthen operational performance and position the practice for continued expansion. The practice requires a forward-thinking leader who can bring structure, accountability, and strategic clarity to an increasingly complex, physician-owned environment. The ED will provide enterprise-level leadership across the organization. The ED will lead a team noted above in Revenue Cycle, Operations Management, and Ultrasound, as well as directly managing financials and vendor oversight (IT, marketing, and accounting). The ED will partner closely with the Clinical Operations Director to ensure effective day-to-day clinical operations. The ED will support the Owner tasked in management relations with the hospital and health system partners. In addition, the ED will lead strategic initiatives and major projects (e.g., an anticipated systems transition—likely Epic). Finally, the Executive Director will support Physician Owner governance by establishing structured decision‑making processes, facilitating alignment, and translating strategic priorities into clear operational execution. Duties and Responsibilities Operational Leadership Serve as the principal operational leader of the practice, acting on behalf of Physician Owners to drive execution, performance, and organizational alignment. Operate with a hands‑on, “roll‑up‑your‑sleeves” mindset, taking ownership of both strategic initiatives and day‑to‑day operational needs, including stepping in wherever required to ensure the practice runs effectively. Ensure effective day‑to‑day operations of the practice, partnering with the Clinical Operations Director and other Managers to drive high standards of access, throughput, patient experience, and operational reliability. Oversee regulatory, credentialing, and compliance requirements (e.g., Medicare enrollment, CLIA, credentialing) Provide oversight of infrastructure and operational initiatives that support practice growth and improvements in patient and employee experience. Organizational Change Management Supporting goals set by the Owners Support to leadership team to ensure organizational design and talent strategy for non-physician functions, including role clarity, performance management, succession planning and advancement. Lead organizational change initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and overall performance of the practice. Strategic Growth and Development Support owners in maintaining relationship with Hunterdon Medical Center, ensuring strong operational coordination, compliant arrangements, and a practice environment that supports physician sustainability and growth. Responsible for, in collaboration with the RCM Director, upcoming systems transition (most likely Epic Systems). Assess strategic growth opportunities, including expansion into new service lines, evaluating the need for additional providers, and other key investment decisions. Business Operations Oversight Oversee revenue cycle function, ensuring strong performance across scheduling, authorization, charge capture, claims, denials, and collections. Drive vendor strategy and performance, including selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing management of IT, accounting, and marketing partners; ensure service level performance, cost efficiency, and HIPAA compliance. Oversee corporate insurance programs, including management of broker relationships, renewal processes, and negotiation of malpractice insurance coverage for all providers to ensure appropriate coverage, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation. Calculate owner’s compensation, as designed Own financial planning and analysis, including development of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis to drive informed decision-making and performance management. Physician Owner Governance and Alignment Plan and lead monthly Physician Owner meetings and translate decisions into action Support effective governance with timely, well-informed decision‑making support among Physician Owners, ensuring all perspectives are heard and aligned. Executive Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to boards/owners and leading high-stakes, often sensitive discussions. Culture & Team Leadership: Builds high‑performing, accountable teams while fostering a culture that prioritizes clinician well‑being, sustainable workloads, and operational excellence. Qualifications Master’s degree strongly preferred (MHA, MBA, MPH, or related); Bachelor’s minimum Minimum of 10 years of healthcare leadership experience, with at least 5 years in physician practice leadership Experience with executive ownership of end-to-end revenue cycle management, from patient access to final payment. Preferably in privately owned practice. Experience managing vendor ecosystems that involve PHI access, including operational comfort with HIPAA business associate management expectations.
