Full Time Journeyman Meat Cutter

Job Summary Full‑time position. Primary responsibility is to take excellent care of customers by satisfying needs and exceeding expectations. Requires a defined level of product knowledge, food preparation skills, sales ability, customer relations skills, and cooperation with associates to create an incredible place to work and shop. Responsible for efficiently cutting and processing the complete variety of meat products to achieve maximum yield and gross profit according to Meat Standards, cleaning work areas, providing customer service, unloading stock, and reloading salvage. Responsibilities Take excellent care of customers by satisfying needs and exceeding expectations. Cut and process a variety of meat products to achieve maximum yield and gross profit according to Meat Standards. Clean work areas to maintain food safety standards. Provide customer service, including unloading and reloading stock. Reload salvage items. Assist team members to increase customer satisfaction and sales. Qualifications Exceptional interpersonal skills. Willingness to participate in training and work with the team. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and associates who speak English. Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Complete company training: new‑hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service, safety, food safety, and product knowledge. Minimum age 18 years. Physical Demands Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and reach from 6–72 inches; frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and reach from 6–72 inches. Requires close vision, color, and depth perception. Work Environment Work in a cool environment with an average temperature range of 34–36 °F and frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold. Noise level usually moderate to loud.
