Finance Attorney

Borrower-side leveraged finance is one of the few finance seats where you sit with the sponsor from term sheet through closing instead of taking the documents as handed to you. A Global 100 firm is hiring a leveraged finance associate (3–5 years) in New York, Chicago, or Washington, DC. Cravath scale — $310K–$365K depending on class year. You'd join a nationally recognized leveraged finance and private equity finance team representing sponsors, their portfolio companies, and corporate borrowers — owning workstreams and serving as the day-to-day contact across multiple live deals. The work includes: Acquisition financings, growth financings, dividend recapitalizations, refinancings, and exits Drafting and negotiating credit agreements, commitment letters, intercreditor agreements, seller notes, guaranty and security documents, and legal opinions Bilateral deals, club deals, direct lending, and broadly syndicated loan structures Working with Corporate/M&A on diligence and the financing provisions of purchase agreements What you bring: 3–5 years of leveraged finance or acquisition finance experience Real reps drafting and negotiating definitive loan documentation Comfort running workstreams and coordinating closings independently Lender-side associates are encouraged to apply — this is where that practice converts to sponsor-side What you get: A sponsor-side finance practice that travels with you through any credit cycle Substantive ownership at the associate level, across three major markets Cravath scale ($310K–$365K depending on class year), plus bonus #J-18808-Ljbffr
