BIM Coordinator

Job Description:

BIM/CAD Coordinator

Reports to: CAD Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

Broad knowledge of plumbing and/or HVAC piping and general knowledge of other trades involved in the coordination process.

Comprehensive understanding of Massachusetts building codes.

Handle project from pre-construction to completion.

Proficiency in AutoCAD or REVIT and ability to draw in 3D.

Coordination of CAD drawings using structural, architectural and mechanical contact documents.

Verify contract drawings for thoroughness and code compliance. Identify issues or questions.

Prepare RFIs

Identify potential additional cost or cost savings on the project.

Maintain project files for the duration of the project.

Visit job sites to gather information needed to complete drawings.

Attend job meeting.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years experience

Strong interest and understanding in mechanical systems

Proficient in BIM software (Revit Navis works, BIM 360)

Proficient in Office 365

Proficient in Trimble software and equipment

Familiarity with plumbing and NFPA codes

Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications

Understanding of process from pre-con to final build including BIM coordination, prefab and service

Understands work structures and processes; effectively documents work

Understands fabrication process and produces accurate drawings

Good verbal and written communications skills

Ability to work independently

Valid drivers license

OSHA 10

Physical Requirement:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to access and navigate all areas of construction sites.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
