Make an immediate impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher supporting a 7th grade reading and language arts classroom. This opportunity offers an engaging, flexible contract role, perfect for experienced educators who are enthusiastic about individualized learning and making a difference every day.
You’ll work part-time, providing crucial support for an overloaded classroom of nine students on your caseload. This role is scheduled for 12.5 hours weekly, from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm, allowing you to concentrate your energy on small group instruction and targeted interventions. If you are seeking a full-time schedule, there may be room to expand the opportunity to fit your needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous experience working with middle school students, preferably at the 7th grade level
- Background in reading and language arts instruction
- Strong skills in modifying curriculum and differentiating instruction
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored reading and language arts instruction to 7th graders
- Manage a caseload of nine students, implementing IEPs and monitoring progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff for maximum student benefit
- Provide ongoing communication with families and school personnel
- Support a positive and productive classroom environment
