We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Carpenter to perform carpentry, repairs, installations, and remodeling work across our multifamily residential and light commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of professional carpentry experience and be capable of independently evaluating projects, reading plans, determining materials, and completing a wide range of rough and finish carpentry work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry, repairs, installations, and remodeling across multifamily residential and light commercial properties.
• Perform rough and finish carpentry, including wood framing, blocking, backing, molding, trim, baseboards, and related work.
• Install and repair Timely door frames and doors, hollow metal frames and doors, door hardware, and related components.
• Install cabinets, shelving, paneling, building accessories, and other interior components.
• Perform laminate installation and repairs as needed.
• Install artwork, wall-mounted items, and other building accessories.
• Perform carpentry work associated with apartment renovations, unit turnovers, tenant improvements, and property improvement projects.
• Repair or replace damaged wood, framing, walls, flooring components, and other building materials as needed.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install materials accurately according to plans and field conditions.
• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, specifications, and measurements.
• Independently evaluate assigned work and determine appropriate materials, tools, and repair methods.
• Coordinate with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, and other trades when necessary.
• Identify required materials and communicate material and equipment needs to management.
• Ensure completed work is level, square, plumb, properly fitted, and meets company quality and safety standards.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and properly care for company-provided tools and equipment.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of professional carpentry experience, preferably in multifamily residential, commercial, renovation, or property maintenance environments.
• Must live within approximately a 45-minute drive of our Northeast San Fernando Valley office and reliably commute to assigned properties.
• Journey-level ability to independently perform carpentry repairs, installations, remodeling, and construction work with minimal supervision.
• Strong experience with both rough and finish carpentry.
• Experience with molding, trim, doors, hollow metal frames, Timely frames, cabinets, paneling, building accessories, and general building repairs.
• Ability to accurately measure, layout, cut, assemble, fasten, level, square, and install building materials.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Knowledge of proper construction practices, building requirements, and jobsite safety.
• California contractor license or other relevant carpentry/construction licenses and certifications are preferred and considered a plus.
• Experience with drywall, metal stud framing, suspended ceilings, flooring, laminate work, or other related trades is a plus.
• Experience working in occupied multifamily properties and apartment renovations is a plus.
• Must provide own standard carpentry hand tools; company will provide larger or specialized equipment as required.
• Ability to safely perform physically demanding construction work, including lifting materials, climbing ladders, working overhead, bending, and kneeling.
• Must be reliable, organized, able to troubleshoot problems independently, and consistently produce professional-quality work.
