Description:
Cardiothoracic ICU that specializes in post-cardiac surgery directly from the operating room.
Registered Nurses titrate drips, including sedation medication and vasoactives.
Chest tube and line removal, mobilization, and daily weights are part of the responsibilities.
Registered Nurses care for CABG, valve, Ross, thoracic patients, aortic dissections, and various ICU patients.
Familiarity with devices such as CRRT, Tablo, Aquadex, Impella, IABP, Heart Mate III, external VAD, and ECMO is essential.
This unit manages multiple devices and patient critical care needs.
