Established (50+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking Land Use and Zoning Associate Attorney for Land Use, Zoning, and Development Matters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

 

An established firm based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with over 50 years in practice is seeking a Land Use and Zoning Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join their team in a hybrid work arrangement. This Land Use and Zoning Associate Attorney will have experience with zoning and land use approvals, municipal permitting, development entitlements, and zoning appeals , ensuring compliance with applicable regulations while representing property owners, developers, tenants, and municipalities throughout the land development process.

Salary range: $185,000-$250,000+ contingent on experience

Qualifications

J.D. degree from a well-regarded U.S. law school with strong academic credentials
Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar in good standing
Working knowledge of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently while responding productively to supervision and feedback
Strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with clients, municipal officials, and community organizations
High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and thorough work product
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

 

Responsibilities  

Prepare, file, and manage zoning and land use applications and related submissions
Review and interpret zoning ordinances, comprehensive plans, and land development regulations
Represent clients before zoning hearing boards, planning commissions, governing bodies, and community groups
Advise property owners, developers, tenants, and municipalities on land use and entitlement strategies
Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants throughout the development process
Handle zoning and land use appeals at the trial and appellate levels when required
