Senior Staff Accountant

Job Details Location: Century Fire Protection, Duluth, GA 30096 Position Type: Full Time Summary Responsible for advanced accounting tasks, including financial reporting, complex reconciliations, analysis, and supporting audits; serves as a key contributor to the accounting team, providing guidance to junior staff and ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies; works with minimal supervision and supports both operational and strategic financial initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and review complex journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. Perform account reconciliations for balance sheet and P&L accounts, including intercompany and multi-entity accounts. Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. Prepare financial statements and management reports; analyze variances and trends. Support audits by providing schedules, documentation, and responding to inquiries. Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies. Mentor and train Staff Accountant I and II on accounting procedures and best practices. Participate in process improvement initiatives, system upgrades, and ERP projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and recommend solutions. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years’ of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity or complex financial environments; strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and reporting standards; experience with consolidated reporting, multi-entity accounting, and intercompany reconciliations; familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling; experience supporting audits and internal controls. Computer Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; ERP/accounting software experience required, Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred. Physical Demands Primarily office-based; able to sit at computer for extended periods; ability to use standard office equipment (computers, printers, scanners); sit, stand, walk, talk; occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
