Senior AccountantWEG is hiring a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance department by ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining the integrity of accounting records, and performing a variety of accounting duties. This position plays a crucial role in the month-end closing process, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reporting, while providing leadership on accounting projects.Primary Responsibilities:Maintain and reconcile general ledger accountsPerform detailed account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial dataInvestigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts, documents, and reportsPrepare, review, and post journal entries for month-end closeOversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processesSupport internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary schedules and documentationAssist with the preparation of various financial statements and reportsProvide timely and accurate financial reporting to managementAssist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecastsMonitor budget vs. actual performance and prepare reports on budget variancesAssist with remote bank depositsAdminister the AMEX corporate credit card programPerform employee offboarding tasks related to AMEX and Motus programsWork with WEG Business Services (WBS) to accomplish assigned tasks and responsibilitiesAssist in entering accounts payable transactionsAssist with new vendor setup verificationMaintain records related to facility leases, including payment processingAssist with the proper recording of all leased asset transactions, both facility and equipmentReview and calculate internal sales commissions monthlyMaintain gross margin reports related to both products and servicesAssist with reviewing drop shipment transactions for revenue recognition, including invoicingAssist in preparing schedules for federal and state income tax filingsAssist with the preparation of indirect tax returns (personal property, business license, and other regulatory filings)Ensure adherence to GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting policiesEnsure adherence to all company accounting policies and proceduresEnsure adherence to internal financial controls, supporting the company's governance frameworkIdentify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiencyRecommend and implement best practices for internal controls and accounting proceduresPrepare and submit US government agency reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually) as directedLead or participate in accounting projects, such as system implementations, automation initiatives, or process reengineeringProvide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staffDevelop key financial metrics and report them to managementEducation:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldKnowledge/Training:Strong computer and technical skills, including MS Office applications and advanced Excel skillsExperience with SAP preferredIn-depth knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS financial accounting principles and practicesStrong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information to non-accounting personnel in a clear mannerStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamHigh level of integrity and confidentialityAbility to multi-task, use independent judgment, and apply sound decision-making skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet financial reporting deadlinesExperience:Minimum of 5–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environmentMinimum of 2 years of SAP experienceAbout WEG Electric Corp.:WEG is the largest industrial electric motor manufacturer in the Americas and one of the largest manufacturers of electric motors in the world producing more than 21 million units annually.
