About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required License: Compact license required prior to start Certifications: BLS, CPI preferred Must-Have: - Nurse to patient ratios of 1:6 - Experience with Epic charting - Ability to float to like units as needed - Experience with blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes management, and wound care Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care to medical surgical patients during the night shift. Experience in a fast-paced environment is essential. The nurse will be responsible for patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions. The role involves activation of rapid response teams when necessary. The unit maintains a daily census of 32 patients. Candidates should have strong skills in managing multiple patient needs. The nurse will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care. Floating to similar units may be required based on patient care needs. Weekends will require six shifts within a six-week period. Responsibilities include the management of IVs, feeding tubes, and other invasive procedures as per patient needs. A focus on patient safety and adherence to isolation precautions is crucial. The nurse will be expected to participate in ongoing education and training for professional development.
