Nocturnist Hospitalist

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospitalist Physician to join our medical team. The Hospitalist will provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and coordinating care for a variety of medical conditions in an inpatient setting. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to hospitalized individuals, including admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning. Perform comprehensive assessments, formulate differential diagnoses, and develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans. Perform clinical procedures, including but not limited to central line placement and intubation , as required for patient care. Collaborate with consulting specialists, primary care physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. Participate in rapid response and code blue situations, providing timely and effective care in emergencies. Document patient care activities thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. Manage transitions of care, ensuring clear communication with patients, families, and primary care providers regarding discharge instructions and follow-up plans. Work closely with case management, nursing, and ancillary staff to ensure efficient and effective discharge planning. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including monitoring hospital metrics such as length of stay, readmission rates, and patient satisfaction. Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and clinical protocols. Provide guidance, education, and mentorship to residents, medical students, and other clinical staff, as applicable. Qualifications Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution. Licensure: Unrestricted medical license in NJ. DEA certification. Board Certification: Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Experience: Previous hospitalist experience preferred but not required. Skills: Strong clinical acumen with the ability to manage diverse medical conditions. Proficiency and comfort performing central line placement and intubation . Willingness to work 100% nocturnist shifts (7 PM–7 AM) , 16-20 shifts per month. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in EMR systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of care. Work Environment This position involves working in a hospital setting with exposure to acutely ill patients. May require long periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $250,000–$275,000.
