The School Fiscal Services Division (SFSD) of the California Department of Education (CDE) is the right team for you. Under the supervision of the Supervisor I in the Information Services Unit (ISU) B of the Financial Accountability and Information Services Office, and working cooperatively with California Local Educational Agencies (LEAs), Technology Services Division staff, and the Fiscal Oversight & Support Office, the Analyst I is part of a team who independently and collaboratively provides analytical and technical support for the School Employees Salary and Benefits Data Collection (C-90). ISU B is responsible for maintaining the C-90 application and ensuring data integrity for state reporting on school employee compensation.
The incumbent will contribute to the maintenance of C-90 by reviewing LEA data submissions, monitoring the C-90 mailbox and answering questions, documenting system requirements for collecting school employee salary and benefits data; testing and troubleshooting data collection; tracking issues and resolutions, and providing project progress data to the Supervisor I for periodic updates to management.
The incumbent will participate in the maintenance and operations of C-90 by documenting system operations and procedures, participating in annual system updates, including requirement revisions and testing activities.
Throughout the maintenance of the system, the incumbent will provide guidance to LEAs on C-90 reporting requirements through correspondence, user manuals, and website postings, along with answering any questions the CDE may receive through official mailboxes.

TELEWORK OPTION HYBRID This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. Currently, the hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and working a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

Ability to effectively research and interpret laws, regulations, policies, and data. Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to positively interact with a wide rage of people. Basic understanding of data processing systems, computer software programs and tools, electronic transmission of data, and communications systems. Adeptness to divide attention amongst multiple assignments and time-sensitive projects and meet deadlines. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel. A self-starter, flexible, have a positive attitude, and excellent attendance.
