Work Location Sacramento County Job Description and Duties Under general supervision, the Research Data Analyst II (RDA II) supports the Branch’s analytical, research, and reporting objectives through advanced data analysis, technical research, and development of program narratives. The incumbent performs data cleaning and transformation, interprets analytical results, and communicates findings to peers, managers, and community members within and outside the Branch. The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. The incumbent works collaboratively with team members and in coordination with the Self‑Determination Program (SDP) Section and other departmental programs to support data‑informed decision‑making. Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave. Incumbent may be required to report to the office or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time. Candidates must be residents of California at the time of appointment. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate. This position requires lawful authorization to work in the United States and does not sponsor employment visas. Qualifications Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification and submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) that is numbered in the same order as required. The SOQ must be typed in 12‑point Arial font, single spaced, no more than two pages, and must answer the following questions: Describe a time when you were involved in assessing the effectiveness of a program or project. What challenges and steps did you take to resolve them? Describe a project where you used SQL or other programming languages such as Python, or data visualization tools such as Power BI. What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them? Applicants utilizing exam eligibility must provide documentation verifying qualifications. If the applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the applicant may be withheld from the eligibility list.
