Temporary Forklift Sit Down Operator

Connect Staffing is hiring a Forklift Operator for a food manufacturing facility in Buena Park, CA. This is a temp position paying $19/hr. In this role, you will use a sit-down forklift to supply production lines with raw materials, load and unload trailers, and move finished goods throughout the facility. This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door at an established food production operation.

Pay: $19/hr

1st shift - 7am- 330 pm + overtime and Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Use a sit-down forklift to supply production lines with raw materials using pick tickets (Bill of Materials) throughout the shift.
• Load outbound trailers and use trailer locking devices; complete outbound trailer inspection sheets.
• Unload incoming materials and verify received quantities against the bill of lading.
• Inspect incoming raw materials for damage or defects and report any issues to a supervisor.
• Wrap, label, and apply barcode labels to pallets of finished goods; organize and stage customer dunnage (empty pallets, top frames, slip sheets) before end of shift.
• Complete daily forklift operator checklist and keep work area clean and organized.

Minimum Requirements

• 1+ year of sit-down forklift operating experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a food or beverage manufacturing or production environment.
• Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) including use of hairnets, beard nets, and ear plugs.
• Experience reading and verifying bills of lading and pick tickets.
• Experience wrapping, labeling, and staging finished goods pallets.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently.
• Ability to work at a fast pace.
• Steel toe shoes required (employee-provided).
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify).
