What You’ll Do Support field and shop supervisors, branch managers, and the regional safety manager in implementing safety programs. Conduct safety training, audits, investigations, and ensure compliance with IIPP, OSHA, and applicable federal and state regulations. Maintain daily safety standards and lead initiatives as needed. Responsibilities Support field/superintendents and branch managers with all aspects of field/shop safety programs. Ensure compliance with the company safety program, contractor safety programs, federal and state regulations, and report significant safety issues. Take corrective action directly with foremen, superintendents, teammates, or general contractors when a safety concern is observed. Visit project sites to audit safety plans, prepare monthly safety reports, and formulate safe work plans. Assist in issuing warnings and instructing on safe work practices when company policies or procedures are not followed. Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication vision and values. Oversee new‑hire safety training and mentoring programs. Assist in accident, incident, and injury reviews and root‑cause investigations, including taking photographs and witness statements. Help formulate safety program plans, procedures, objectives, and evaluate program effectiveness. Assist with injury and claims management, including developing injury/illness treatment procedures and complying with OSHA record‑keeping requirements. Minimum Requirements Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferences At least 2 years of construction safety & health experience. 5 years minimum construction‑related experience. Valid OSHA 30 training certificate. Knowledge of OSHA standards including CFR 1926. Ability to obtain OSHA 510 and then 500 within the first 6 months of employment. What Will Help Your Application Stand Out Two‑year technical degree or construction trade training. OSHA 30 required; OSHA 500 and 510 preferred. Team‑oriented with problem‑solving aptitude. Organized and detail‑oriented. Effective time management and prioritization. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) an asset. Effective verbal and written communication skills. What You Need to Know Commitment to a drug‑free environment. Frequent and extensive travel (50–100%) to job sites. Ability to work overtime when required. Occasional off‑prime shift work to meet teammates on other shifts. Capable of walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs and ladders to inspect equipment. Ready for typical office activities involving hands, tools, computers, and electronic equipment. Some heavy lifting may be necessary. Working conditions can be noisy, dusty, hot, or cold.
