Executive Director/LALD

Our Carefree Living organization is seeking an experienced and motivated Temporary Executive Director/Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD) to support our Iron Range assisted living communities. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of assisted living communities, including resident care, staffing, regulatory compliance, financial oversight, customer satisfaction, and operational leadership. This temporary leadership role is ideal for a candidate who is confident managing assisted living operations while supporting teams and maintaining high standards of care and service across multiple locations. Schedule: Full-time temporary position based on the needs of the facilities and organization with possibility of a permanent position. Salary: Competitive wage based on experience. RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee daily operations of assisted living communities including clinical, administrative, dining, environmental, and staffing functions Provide leadership and support to managers and staff to ensure high-quality resident-centered care Maintain compliance with current county, state, and federal assisted living regulations Partner with the Director of Nursing to ensure services are delivered according to resident care plans Lead and support QAPI initiatives, safety programs, and operational improvement efforts Monitor census, admissions activity, and CRM documentation Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, hospitals, county workers, and community partners Assist with budgeting, operational planning, and financial oversight Support employee satisfaction through coaching, mentoring, scheduling support, and staff development Coordinate investigations, follow-up, and documentation related to complaints or regulatory concerns Ensure emergency preparedness plans, fire drills, and required facility documentation remain current Participate in strategic planning and leadership meetings Maintain excellent communication with residents, families, staff, and corporate leadership Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Leadership team QUALIFICATIONS Current Minnesota Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD) license required Previous Executive Director or assisted living leadership experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of Minnesota assisted living regulations and operations Experience with staffing, budgeting, customer service, and regulatory compliance Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while supporting a team-focused culture Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and Microsoft Office applications Ability to travel locally or regionally as needed to support Iron Range locations BENEFITS Flexible Schedules/Work-life balance Competitive Wages Paid Training Customized orientation plan for your professional development Employee Recognition Programs Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, company paid basic life and AD&D insurance Flex Spending, Dependent Care & HSA options available 401K with employer match Free meals at Carefree Living sites Paid Time Off If you are a strong assisted living leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting residents and staff, we encourage you to apply.
