About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in PCU License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS and BCLS certification required Must-Have: - Familiarity with the electronic health record system for documentation. - Experience with IV starts and telemetry monitoring. - Previous travel nursing experience preferred. Description: Provide care to patients within the Progressive Care Unit. Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1 to 5. Utilize skills in IV starts and telemetry monitoring. Schedule includes weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays. Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Daily patient census is approximately 20. The unit serves adult patients undergoing various transplants and related complications. Special procedures may include kidney biopsies and paracentesis. Interdisciplinary support includes therapy and social services. Travelers will not be expected to care for ICU level patients. Previous charge experience is a plus, but not required. Provide quality care while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Documentation is completed using the electronic health record system. Engage with patients and their families to provide education and support. Contribute to the overall team efforts in patient care and unit operations.
