Job Description

The Payroll Specialist plays a key role in supporting accurate and timely payroll operations for a diverse workforce. This position assists employees with payroll-related questions, processes payroll for multiple shifts, manages budget transfer requests, and handles garnishment processing while maintaining a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear and timely assistance to employees regarding payroll questions and concerns.
• Process payroll for multiple different shifts and shift runs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
• Review and process budget transfer requests in alignment with organizational guidelines.
• Handle all garnishment processing, including accurate calculations and proper documentation.
• Perform data entry and administrative tasks related to payroll and employee records.
• Act as the face of the payroll department, communicating professionally and effectively with internal employees.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accurate payroll calculations and reporting.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to resolve payroll issues and improve processes.
• Protect sensitive payroll and employee information by following confidentiality and data security standards.

Essential Skills

Work Environment

This position is fully on-site at a corporate office within a large, student-centered educational institution. The role is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, offering a stable, weekday-oriented work schedule. You will work closely with faculty, staff, and administrative teams in a professional office setting that values collaboration, learning, and service to students. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
