Looking for your next payroll opportunity? We are partnering with a growing organization in the Tampa area that is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team on a contract basis. While this is a contract opportunity for now, there is a strong potential to extend long term and could even lead to a full-time position for the right person. If you're looking for a contract role that puts you to work right away where you can build new skills, work with great people, and gain exposure to new systems and processes, we'd love to connect.
This position offers a highly flexible hybrid schedule with the potential for increased remote work over time. You'll work alongside an experienced payroll team in a collaborative environment that values training, professional growth, and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll accurately and timely
- Review payroll data, earnings, deductions, and tax information
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Assist with payroll audits and reporting
- Partner with HR, Finance, and employees to answer payroll-related questions
- Support payroll system maintenance, updates, and process improvements
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of in-house payroll experience
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance
- Experience working with payroll systems and HRIS platforms
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
