Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance MechanicJoin a maintenance team as a Maintenance Mechanic responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and facility systems. In this role, you spend approximately half of your time performing preventative maintenance, about 30% on high-level diagnostics and repairs, and the remaining time on project-based work that supports continuous improvement of the production environment.Responsibilities:Perform preventative maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.Troubleshoot and repair automated systems, ensuring reliable and safe operation.Diagnose and repair electrical subsystems, including PLCs, 480V systems, and components using electrical schematics.Maintain and repair 3-phase motors, pneumatics, conveyors, and a variety of facility tools.Carry out light facilities tasks as needed to support overall plant operations.Use PLC troubleshooting skills to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective solutions.Interpret and work from electrical and mechanical schematics to perform accurate repairs and modifications.Perform mechanical repairs on manufacturing equipment, including work involving hydraulics and basic welding when required.Collaborate with other maintenance technicians on shift to coordinate work, share knowledge, and support production goals.Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage to maintain accurate maintenance records.Essential Skills:At least 3 years of relevant experience as a maintenance mechanic or maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Strong troubleshooting skills for automated equipment and mechanical systems.Hands-on experience with electrical systems, including 480V and 3-phase power.Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and working with PLC-controlled equipment.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.Experience with pneumatics, including maintenance and repair of pneumatic components.Mechanical repair skills for conveyors, motors, and other production machinery.Knowledge of basic hydraulics and their application in industrial equipment.Capability to perform preventative maintenance following established procedures and schedules.Strong attention to safety and adherence to maintenance best practices.Why Work Here?You join a well-established, family-oriented organization that values stability, internal growth, and long-term careers. You work on a structured shift schedule, including options such as 6:00 AM–4:00 PM Monday–Thursday and 5:00 AM–3:00 PM on Friday, or a Monday–Thursday 3:00 PM–3:00 AM shift, depending on assignment. You collaborate with a team of approximately six other maintenance technicians, using tools and equipment related to electrical work, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, and mechanical repair. The environment is hands-on, fast-paced, and focused on keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently.Job Type & Location:This is a Permanent position based out of Hugo, MN.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
