General Summary The Floor Supervisor will assist with managing overall store operations and assume primary responsibility for store operations in the absence of the General Manager and/or Assistant Managers. The Floor Supervisor will also assist in managing and directing staff to achieve company goals and objectives. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Customer Service: Project a positive representation of Ace Retail Group. Proactively assist customers in solving problems. Greet and thank customers throughout the store. Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor towards customers and associates. Ensure all calls and pages are answered promptly, courteously, and effectively. Resolve customer complaints and issues while protecting the company’s best interest. Maintain excellent product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and product locations. Store Operations: Ensure a positive, professional, and safe work environment for all associates. Supervise general store operations. Oversee opening and closing procedures. Assist implementation of Store Support Center programs. Help ensure successful Loss Prevention, Safety, and Internal Audits. Assist the General Manager and Assistant Manager in all aspects of running the store. Communicate operational or managerial issues to the General Manager promptly. Maintain daily cleanliness and order of the sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor merchandise areas. Ensure timely and accurate weekly price changes and label updates. Assist with cashiering functions, including training, maintenance, audits, and reports. Perform additional duties as assigned. Inventory & Merchandising: Ensure safe and efficient forklift operations and receiving. Verify completion of receiving, checking in, and stocking of merchandise. Maintain back‑stock levels. Ensure cycle counts and negative on‑hand reports are completed timely and accurately. Assist with merchandise resets throughout the store. Keep signage current. Present a clean, orderly sales floor, including end caps, promotional, and incremental merchandising. Leadership: Manage all aspects of store operations in the absence of the General Manager and Assistant Manager. Lead by example and remain approachable to associates and customers. Assist in training all associates. Participate in store meetings. Communicate merchandising, cost‑control, or sales ideas to the General Manager for follow‑up. Partner with the General Manager and Assistant Manager to prepare for advancement. Minimum Skills, Requirements and Qualifications High School or GED equivalent. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, manufacturing assembly directions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to work independently. Ability to work flexible hours. Effective communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration and motivate others both internally and externally to perform enthusiastically. Standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50lbs) regularly, and lifting (up to 100lbs) occasionally with assistance, and climbing.
