Job Description Overnight Maintenance Mechanic

$42/hour | Direct Hire | Longmont, CO

Pay: $42/hour ($87,360/year)

Job Type: Direct Hire | Permanent

Shift: Overnight (2‑2‑3 Schedule)

Support a Modern, State‑of‑the‑Art Food Manufacturing Operation

We are seeking an experienced Overnight Maintenance Mechanic to support preventative and corrective maintenance across all plant equipment in a GMP‑regulated food manufacturing facility . This role is critical to maintaining safe, reliable production while ensuring equipment performance, food safety, and regulatory compliance.

This position is ideal for a mechanically strong technician who values clean environments, structured processes, and long‑term stability in a modern facility.

Work Schedule

• 2‑2‑3 rotating schedule
• Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
• Initial training on day shift for approximately 60 days
• Designed to support work‑life balance with built‑in days off

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, and work orders
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace processing and packaging equipment to reduce downtime
• Maintain and repair conveyor systems including belts, bearings, motors, gearboxes, and mechanical drives
• Troubleshoot pneumatic systems such as air cylinders, valves, diverters, and hoses
• Complete equipment changeovers, startups, shutdowns, and line clearances
• Support sanitation efforts and ensure equipment readiness for food safety compliance
• Accurately document maintenance activities in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, manuals, SOPs, and work instructions
• Follow all OSHA, EPA, GMP, safety, and Lockout/Tagout procedures

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of preventative and corrective maintenance practices
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and pneumatic systems
• Experience working with conveyors and packaging equipment
• Comfortable following SOPs, GMPs, work orders, and technical documentation
• Strong safety awareness in regulated environments

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 or more years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience
  • 2+ years considered with food manufacturing experience
• Prior GMP or food manufacturing experience
• Exposure to PLC troubleshooting
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems
• Strong computer skills and CMMS documentation experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $87360.00 - $87360.00/yr.
