This position will implement software development strategies and administer associated policies, procedures, and processes. They will direct the work of a team responsible for planning, designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications or systems software, which may include web or mobile applications. This position will work closely with the Application Support and Development Manager to manage the software development team through the entire development lifecycle. As a manager of the software engineers, they will apply their knowledge of software development to manage tasks associated with developing, debugging, and designing software applications; build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture. They will also collaborate with management, project management and other cross-functional management to ensure high quality integrated software solutions in a fast-paced, Agile approach. What You’ll Do Experience managing, leading, and building high-performing teams. Lead technology design sessions with team to ensure best practices are delivered. Effectively provide open and honest feedback via performance reviews and 1-1 conversations. Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and be a key contributor in annual strategic planning. Have a passion for innovation and effectively leverage current technology solutions to meet business objectives. Direct experience with implementing enterprise services and systems. Manage the annual application refresh planning and execution. What You’ll Bring BA/BS degree is required. Five to six (5-6) years job related experience preferred. Proven ability to support a strong member/customer service culture Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Has worked in multiple languages and platforms and can demonstrate they understand a full stack development experience Responsive design experience Develop architectures following MVC (Model View Controller), reusable frameworks Experience with agile methodologies, such as SCRUM leveraging JIRA for Epics, Stories, Versions and Sprints Experience with best practices for software deployment such as continuous integration and continuous delivery Enjoy collaborating with team members and consulting the business stakeholders on optimal solutions Direct experience with implementing enterprise web services and systems Oversee system and application design, development, implementation and deployment Perform regression and unit testing leveraging nUnit and Protractor Design and develop supporting documentation for applications Assist end users and troubleshoot system and application issues Research and recommend software tools Provide technical consultation and recommendations to assist management with decision making IOS and Android native application development a plu Node, js a plus Always looking to learn and gain new knowledge to solve problems and overcome obstacle Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned Critical thinking to ask questions, determine root cause, offer solutions, and help resolve complex problems Proven ability to support a strong member/customer service culture Act as a change agent Perform annual refresh planning for all systems to ensure high quality experience for our membership Build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with peers, management, business units, and vendor partners Utilize effective written and verbal communication with multiple internal and external stakeholders; communicate complex information in user-friendly format Advanced working knowledge of relational databases and SQL Advanced working knowledge of technical documentation and architectures Advanced working knowledge of software development life cycle and relevant milestones; project management methodology Advanced working knowledge of n-tier architectures Advanced working knowledge of .NET technologies Working knowledge of mobile technologies What You’ll Get Ability to collaborate and build a sense of togetherness that contributes to a positive work environment.
