Job Description
Job Opportunity Procedure Center Registered Nurse We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Procedure Center team. This position will involve working in a fast-paced environment, primarily focusing on general surgery and pediatric patients, with occasional adult cases. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in managing various surgical specialties. Shift Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (06:00 AM - 04:30 PM)
- Start Date: Must be able to start by September 14th
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care or outpatient settings, with a focus on general surgery.
- Certifications Required: ACLS, PALS, BLS
- EMR Experience: Proficiency with electronic medical records is mandatory; experience with SurgiNet (Cerner) preferred.
- Patient Population: Pediatric patients (ages 1 day to 24 years) and rare adult cases.
- Call Requirements: On-call duty, including 5 weekdays and 2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
- Weekend Coverage: Required.
- Floating Requirements: No floating required.
- Ability to administer blood and blood products.
- Experience in various surgical procedures, including but not limited to:
- Appendectomy
- Cholecystectomy
- Tonsillectomy/Adenoidectomy
- Colostomy/Ileostomy procedures
- Exploratory laparotomy
- Cystoscopy/Cystogram/Pyelogram
- Strong infection control practices.
- Excellent skills in patient assessment and communication.
- Daily Census: 35-40 patients
- Number of Rooms: 6
- Special Procedures: Experience with minor surgical cases across ENT, plastics, general surgery, ophthalmology, urology, dentistry, and oncology.
- Orientation will include up to 16 hours of modules, which are billable when completed during orientation.
- Candidates must be willing to undergo training for endoscopy if needed.
