Job Description Marketing Assistant Position Type: Full Time Non-exempt Hybrid Scheduled (work in the office for 1 - 3 days, as needed on a fixed schedule) Location: LA Residency Requirements: Washington D.C.: For all positions based in the Washington, D.C. office, residency within Washington D.C., Maryland or Virginia and within a reasonable commutable distance to the assigned office is required depending on the firm's discretion and the nature of the role. Los Angeles and San Francisco Offices: For all positions based in the Los Angeles and San Francisco offices, residency within the state of California and within a reasonable commutable distance to the assigned office is required depending on the firm's discretion and the nature of the role. Salary Range: $32.74/HR - $33.63/HR * *The salary range is the one that Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP reasonably expects to pay for this position. The salary range does not guarantee, obligate, nor set expectations of an applicant's wage in the event of hire. SUMMARY Under the general direction of senior members of the Department, the Marketing Assistant provides support to the Business Development and Marketing Team. Regular tasks will include assistance with Firm materials, detailed database maintenance and record keeping, support of events and sponsorships, and routine administrative support of department initiatives. The Marketing Assistant will need strong writing and proofreading skills, be highly organized with strong attention to detail, and possess the ability to learn and distill complex concepts as needed. - Support the Alumni and Community Engagement Manager with alumni program activities, including newsletters, internal and external events, and social media content.
- Support the Alumni and Community Engagement Manager with routine operations of the MTO Foundation, a non-profit public benefit corporation funded by contributions from the Firm's partners.
- Track attendees, calendar events and sponsorships, and coordinate marketing deliverables with external grant recipient organizations, liaising with attorneys, the graphics team and other staff.
- Provide support for collaboration activities with other internal departments.
- Draft marketing collateral, liaising with the graphics, recruiting and communications teams, and supporting the updating of standard content.
- Provide support for the Firm's community engagement activities.
- Attend committee meetings, take notes and help to identify and support action item completion.
- Assist with budget tracking and timely payments, liaising with the finance team.
- Maintain detailed records and provide database support.
- Support the transition of departing attorneys to the MTO Alumni Network.
- Provide database support including contact management and internal research, as needed.
- Assist with submissions and surveys, attorney bios and other marketing materials, including creating drafts and templates and maintaining up-to-date records.
- Add and update matter descriptions to the Firm experience database, using firm standard protocols.
- Add and update proposal information to the pitch tracker.
- Attend Firm meetings, trainings and other presentations to develop an understanding of the background and experience of attorneys, and how clients leverage their skills.
- Coordinate MTO attorney photography schedule and maintain primary image library.
- Maintain the department calendar, and assist with coordinating and calendaring meetings, presentations, and other activities for the department and Firm committees.
- Respond to requests for information, including assisting with maintaining the Firm's general inbox, reviewing incoming mail, and taking appropriate action as directed.
- Update and maintain the Firm website, intranet, and social media pages with guidance from senior department members.
- Assist with logistics for events and relevant sponsorships, preparing and shipping materials and providing occasional onsite support.
- Process all invoices for the department and track spending on an annual basis.
- Support senior members of the firm with a wide range of special projects.
- Regularly track, record and report on projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Software tools including collaboration tools, email marketing, basic survey design and basic databases
- ~1 year of relevant experience working in a law firm, professional services, or consulting firm. Internships or temporary work will be considered.
- Strong technical writing skills normally acquired through a bachelor's degree or the equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to assess the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of written work product.
- Ability to draft high-quality copy that resonates with sophisticated buyers of legal services.
- Ability to be flexible as circumstances change regarding assignments, priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to handle concurrent projects at one time with competing and short deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple document edits from multiple contributors, sometimes contemporaneously.
- Capable of responding to routine questions directly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, professionals and peers.
- Strong interpersonal, organization and follow-up skills.
- Experience coordinating efforts and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with MS Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Experience with MS Teams, MS Forms, iManage, SharePoint, and Dynamics 365 a plus.
- Knowledge of website platforms/social media tools and resources a plus.
- Solid writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as proven success writing professional copy.
- Flexibility to adjust work schedule according to workload demands, with some night and weekend availability.
- Ability to proofread in AP Style.
- Knowledge of law firm practice areas and offerings.
- Understanding of document versioning and saving under a specific file name convention.
