Happy Hearts is seeking a dependable, patient, and friendly Daycare Assistant to help create a safe, nurturing, and organized environment for children. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with young children, is comfortable supporting children with special needs, and is willing to learn and grow with our small business.

Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive supervision and support children’s daily routines, including diapering, potty training, meals, and rest time.
• Support children with special needs with patience, respect, and flexibility, following individual care instructions.
• Plan and prepare weekly age-appropriate activities, including learning games, stories, arts and crafts, and creative play.
• Assist with meal planning, meal preparation, serving, and kitchen cleanup while following allergy and dietary instructions.
• Complete daycare laundry, including bedding, towels, and children’s soiled clothing as needed.
• Perform light housework and routine cleaning of daycare areas, including dishes, sweeping, wiping surfaces, sanitizing toys, and organizing supplies.
• Use positive guidance and communicate concerns promptly to the owner.
• Work cooperatively with the team and communicate professionally with families.

Qualifications:

• Childcare experience preferred; experience supporting children with special needs is a plus.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and strong communication skills.
• A warm, positive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
• Comfortable balancing childcare, activity planning, and household tasks while keeping children’s safety the priority.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Willingness to complete required background checks and training.
