This position will also collaborate with other prefabrication functions to evaluate feasibility of new project types and implement changes, mentoring manufacturing leadership locally and in other facilities, ensuring professional growth. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn. Autonomy and Decision-Making: Makes most decisions and consults with supervisor as needed. Career Path: Senior Manufacturing ManagerKey Role Responsibilities - CoreLeads all aspects of the company's safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.Investigate safety incidents and retrains staff as neededOversees daily operations within assigned area of responsibility, ensuring product quality and timeline requirements are met and implementing corrective action if neededDevelops and refines production schedules responding to changes in demand, material flows, business need and unexpected changes (i.e. weather)Manages a production team and specialized staff focused on employee performance, development, and business efficiencyTrack key performance indicators for production operations, making corrections or recommending improvements as neededLeads various meetings including daily standup and prefabrication group update meetingsManages inventory of various raw materials and supplies to ensure uninterrupted productionDevelops improvements to processes across the organization, enhancing efficiency and safetyPartners with subject matter experts and other prefabrication functional areas to ensure optimal production metrics are maintainedEnsures functional area maintains compliance with all local, state and federal regulationsUtilizes technology to improve the management and performance of the production teamKey Role Responsibilities - Additional CoreManages a large production department or an entire medium-sized production facilityMakes decisions on factors that impact operational schedules including maintenance, raw material allocation, and schedulingCollaborates with leadership to define strategic plans out to three yearsParticipates in internal and external meetings, addressing concerns and reinforcing client partnershipsUtilizes production forecasting metrics to anticipate demand, aligning schedules and procurement to meet anticipated demand across multiple scopes of workIdentifies what data metrics are needed for a production team to ensure success and works with a cross functional team to identify how new data is capturedIdentifies and works with leadership to implement team initiatives in support of the larger group's stated Outcomes and Key ResultsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner Communication skills, verbal and written Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources Ability to identify common construction materials and shop equipment Ability to apply Lean process and philosophy Knowledge of labor productivity Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work Knowledge of the means and methods of construction management Knowledge of layout skill – Intermediate Knowledge of crane flagging and rigging – Intermediate Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications Acquire knowledge of productivity rates Ability to assess and optimize project productivity Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externallyEducationBachelor's degree in management, engineering or a related field (Preferred) In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.Experience8+ years commercial construction, manufacturing, or fabrication shop experience (Required) 5+ years people leadership experience (Required)Working EnvironmentMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold) Maintenance facility environment, may be exposed to varying temperatures, moving equipment, noise and exhaust fumes May require working overtime as needed May require use of respirator Must be comfortable working at projected heights and narrow workspace Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen Occasional activity: Bending, Climbing, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, PullingBenefits InformationThe benefits package aligned to this position is Professional Non-Union.
