Building Systems Project Manager (MEP)

Location: Phoenix, AZ (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually (based on experience)

What Your Day Looks Like

You start the morning reviewing the master schedule, confirming the week’s equipment deliveries, and aligning your field team and trade partners on priorities. By mid-morning, you’re walking the jobsite—verifying progress against milestones, inspecting quality, and capturing action items from a pre-task planning huddle. After lunch, you finalize a subcontract buy-out, prepare the month’s billing package to maintain healthy cash flow, and resolve a change in scope with a vendor. Before day’s end, you communicate status to leadership and update cost projections to keep the project on track and within budget.

Role Overview

Lead and coordinate construction of building systems projects—from new ground-up facilities to additions, expansions, and complex renovations. You will organize project assignments and timelines, direct construction personnel, and ensure materials and equipment arrive when needed. Collaborating closely with the project team, field operations, and management, you will drive scope, schedule, cost, and quality from kickoff through closeout.

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget; conduct frequent status reviews and end-of-contract cost analyses.
• Incorporate scope changes efficiently and validate estimates for accuracy before loading into the project cost system.
• Run thorough pre-job planning meetings; document outcomes and track action items to completion.
• Develop, maintain, and align project schedules with the master schedule.
• Execute subcontracts and equipment buy-outs that support budget and timeline objectives.
• Communicate emerging issues and risk items promptly to the appropriate management level.
• Assemble project estimates, review final numbers, and ensure proper entry into cost controls.
• Prepare and submit monthly contract billings to sustain cash flow throughout execution.
• Lead conflict resolution with customers, vendors, trades, and partners.
• Champion continuous improvement through refined policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Visit jobsites to inspect work, check progress, and resolve project or contract issues.

Required Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field (required).
• 2–5 years of relevant project leadership experience.
• Exceptional organization, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated initiative and a proactive, ownership-minded approach.
